The building remodel is first class. They did a great job inside & out on making this place brand new. The food seemed just average to me. We only ordered their "famous" Petey Burger & salads so perhaps another trip to try the steaks is in order. The burger is served on garlic bread & while it was tasty, it was not great. We ordered a side salad for $3.00 & when asked what kind of dressing, I answered Blue Cheese. When the bill came there was a charge for the dressing that was .50 cents less the the salad itself. Just a suggestion but that is something the waiter should share with their customers. Lastly while it's not required, being over 70 seems to be the "norm" here. Lol

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! Who doesn't love the relish tray??? We have a friend who comes to dine there JUST for the relish tray! The food is wonderful ~ We celebrate all our special occasions at Petey's and recommend it, highly!!! And who else gives you dessert with your meal?? Not too many!!

Went to Petey's with my family for a Sunday night dinner. The atmosphere is nice although tables are a bit close together. I noticed this even more because we were seated right next to a group at a table when others were open. Don't understand the reasoning for that. For a starter we ordered the Saganacki. It came out piping hot and was very tasty. They also gave us a relish trey and a couple of small sides before our dinner was served. While I didn't eat any of the sides the rest of my family really enjoyed them. For dinner I ordered he Petite filet. It came with Soup or salad ( a big plus not many places include soup or salad anymore) and I had the fries for my side. My steak was cooked perfectly and the fries were served piping hot. Over all I really enjoyed my dinner at Petey's.

My wife and I were the the other night. We heard the food was good so we stopped. Are server approuched the table and appeared to be disoriantated or not all there. It was almost like shhe was not listening to our order. The food came and was under cooked and it seemed to be a hassle for the waitress (Marla or Marle) to take it back. After the foid was ok but waitress seemed agitated with us, she put check on table and wakked away with a scaul on her face.

I thought the Grecian style pork chops were terrific and we got a lot of bang for our buck. The dining room wasn't too crowded or noisy on a Friday night.

We stopped at Petey's on our way back from Champaign. I hadn't been there in years, but used to go frequently when I worked in the area. I was impressed with their remodeling. It's very nice. You go to Petey's for pretty decent food, and for me the "Old School" service of bringing out a relish tray with carrots, peppers, celery, black and green olives and radishes. Add a couple of sides, like macaroni salad, a cucumber salad with thin slices of onion in a light vinegar and a side of 4 little meatballs while you enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine. All entrees come with these, soup or salad, a bread basket, coffee and dessert included. My wife enjoyed the rib tips special and I dug into a NY Strip (bone in) that was juicy and delicious, if not slightly tough. This isn't Morton's even though my wife said the interior reminded her of our favorite steak place. The wait staff wear white shirts and black pants and are friendly and helpful. I finished my meal with rice pudding (again, old school) and coffee. I'd prefer a larger coffee cup, but the whole meal was a treat. They played a soft jazz background. I'm not sure I would describe the place as dressy, but it's the kind of place you might go wearing a bit more than casual. Two dinners, 2 cocktails and a glass of wine: $67 Petey's reminds me of restaurants we used to go to when we were kids. When they served a relish tray, we knew it was a good place!

I have been living in the area now for 25 years and finally had decided to stop in and try the food. When our waiter brought the drinks, I then asked for some ranch for the relish tray, which I ended up having to ask twice for, with our waiter never to be seen. Also, please keep in mind, even if you order a filet you still only get one refill on a coke. Cheap!! Then our meal was supposed to come with desert and coffee or tea, we were never asked about this once, as we were walking out you looked at a menu to see if that indeed what we were supposed to get and it was!! We then got our dessert to go and the manager saying well that is our best waiter. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that will actually appreciate your business!!!

My family went to the original Petey's location in Oak Lawn when we lived in the Beverly/Oak Lawn area. Then we moved to south suburban Homewood, and the Petey's in Orland Park was much closer. Petey's II. I love the Saganaki. I used to go regularly with my woman friend who lived in Orland and we always got the Greek flaming feta appetizer. In fact, there was never any decision to make as to which restaurant we would go to when we met for dinner......it was understood it would be Petey's. Petey's is that good. My friend's sister even had her small wedding reception at Petey's. It was like their second home. My fave entree has always been the Petey burger. It is soooooo delicious. And how many places offer Dover Sole, another of my faves. You can't go wrong with any dish at either of the Petey's locations. It's the place for steaks, any cut you want. The atmosphere at Petey's II is very nice, comfortable and attractive. Easy parking in the lot, never a problem. The servers are experienced, always efficient. Although I've lived in LA for several years, I will never stop missing Petey's.

Went here last night for a special occasion. Was not impressed with the food. Ordered prime rib medium and it was VERY fatty and grizzly. Was the worst I have had in a long time. Salad was nothing special either. Needless to say I will not be going back.

I really don't understand all the negative reviews. I've been going here the last couple years and have been impressed by the service, amount and quality of food and waitstaff. The specials are always good, I've never had a bad meal and everyone is friendly. The recent makeover of the atmosphere is also really nice. Clearly they're doing something right as this restaurant is packed all the time. We've hosted private parties here as well as just gone to lunch and dinner and on special occasions (New Years, holidays) or if you're coming with a big group, reservations are strongly recommended.

A friend and I recently had lunch at Petey's II. I had dined there before but not in years. This restaurant has a warm ambiance and is comfortably designed with two dining rooms and a separate barroom. We both had the Julienne Salad, one with the honey mustard dressing and the other with the creamy garlic. The salads were large and all the ingredients fresh and cold. The dressings were advertised as homemade and lived up to the billing. The salads, which were moderately priced, were tasty and the service was competent. I recommend Petey's for lunch if you are in the area.

Major Renovations both inside and out... but are the customers literally paying for the construction?? This place has been here for like 40 years-from what I remember always fine if not quite good... Visited over the weekend with like a party of 5. First problem, you charged a 2 year old kid $8 for a Grilled Cheese? Second problem, the drinks are WAY too Small and SHIT mixers are used-my wine glass was the smallest glass I've ever seen-Terrible Wine- and the Orange Juice mixed with another drink came out of a box? Pathetic!! Third Problem, you are trying to cut corners and use that GENERIC SOUR CREAM that turns into like water when you put it on a baked potato? Also Pathetic! Fourth problem, the Baked Potato had to have been sitting around for like 5 hours if not from last night?? Joke! Fifth problem, my Filet was one of the driest pieces of meat-barely cooked to temperature (ordered MR and was Medium) I've had especially at that price. Sixth problem, that Cheap Pink Soap/Paper towel roll in the bathroom? Come on.... I realize that the construction must have cost a bunch-your menu prices Definitely Reflect that....This place is not exactly cheap but once again you feel like your getting nickel-dimed left and right!! I really wrote this to kinda help you get this Restaurant back to what it used to be--the cutting corners thing just doesn't work for me... and if you think people don't notice, Think Again....

We have been going to Petey's II for years, and every since they remodeled the food had gone way below standard. Four of us attended dinner Sunday evening, the Restaurant was crowed as expected however we were seated promptly. The tables ave very close together and patrons and the wait staff had difficulty getting around without disturbing someone seated. I ordered sauteed scallops, I requested that they be sauteed in garlic butter, the wait person stated that that could be done without a problem. WELL, my scallops did arrive and they were perfectly cooked, however they had forgot the garlic, we informed the waitress and requested sauteed garlic butter on the side to pour over the scallops, the waitress came back with about 1/4 cup of raw garlic, she dumped it on my scallops, we were so amazed we did not want to say anything else, however my sister-in-law asked the waitress "shouldn't that be in butter? the waitress replied their is butter on the plate, she than walked away. I tried to eat the meal with the raw garlic but my partner went to then hostess to inform her of the concern, the waitress came back and said she would return the scallops to the kitchen for them to be cooked correctly. Well on the plate there was a scallop which was cut in half, and when the replacement meal returned it was obvious they were the same scallops, the plate was very hot the garlic was now sauteed and I notices the scallop which was cut in half on the plate. I started to eat my meal but the scallops which were perfectly cooked the first time were now like rubber. I was encouraged to mention this to the hostess, which now I needed little encouragement, While waiting for the scallops to return I did eat the potato, and the salad. Everyone in our group was now finished with their meal so I requested they remove my dinner from the bill. The hostess did ask if I wanted to order something else, I said no I was fine since I ate the salad and potato, she said she would remove my dinner from the bill. The bill arrived and my dinner was not on the bill (kinda) they still pro rated the salad and the potato. I did eat them but felt she implied the entire dinner price would be removed since everything is included. We did not comment on that we paid the bill and decided to not ever return, and encourage are friends not to return to Petey's either. Very sad used to be such a good place to eat. Footnote: I do not believe any of this was the fault of the waitress, but she did what she was instructed by both the Chef and the Hostess.

Was at the original Peteys Bungalow on 95th St. years ago. Kept driving past the one on LaGrange Road and 159th for a long time. Yesterday my daughter and I were out and about and stopped in for an early dinner. I had a prime rib dinner and my daughter had the filet mignon steak sandwich. The food was excellent. The service was very good. I will be back, its a great place, and the price is right.

I drive by all the time and figured got to try it out, they survived the huge construction project. I guess some ideas are not very good. The relish tray was a site of saggy things on it. Nothing appealing at all, then came my coke, sorry we are out of big glasses. Shit it was a sippy cup. Then came cole slaw and pasta salad. Cole slaw was good, pasta not. I had the chops and broccoli. Chops were dry and tasteless and I love broccoli but they managed to kill it. Icky bad. Service was fair. The crowd is older so I guess they like it. Not for me.

I have no idea how the service or food is. Like everyone else, I've driven by this place for years and never gave it a second thought. One day I stopped in to check it out, then left right away. They were in the middle of construction, no big deal. Tons of Blue hair ladies in the place with their gentlemen, usually means low priced. One look at the menu and I knew I was in the wrong place, non typical menu items and expensive. They have been there forever and just did a major renovation of the joint, it must appeal to a lot of people. Just not for me. I was expecting a lower end experience.

Remember the scene from What Ever Happened to Baby Jane, when Betty Davis served Joan Crawford the ratt in the covered serving dish. That is how I felt every time they brought something out. The relish tray had black olives in it that were all smashed up? The carrots all had fork holes in them and the one I pulled out had grey slime on the end. We ordered our drinks and they brought my friend a kiddy glass because they ran out of regular glasses and was told that he would get another one as soon as they were available. They brought out slaw that was extra creamy. It was the best thing of the night and it was free. The pasta salad had no flavor and was way over cooked. I changed my order because of the food that I saw go by. I have never done that before, but I was not going to order oysters roc at this joint. They served me minestrone and it tasted like they thru a tomato in a pot of chicken and rice soup? The ribs were nice and tender, but the extra sauce was Open Pit. Are you kidding me? There must be at least 20 different sauces at each grocery store and you can't think of something a little more original after 41 years in business! I should have walked out and it was discussed when we were seated by Methuselah. And she must have brought that pre-historic jack-ass behind the bar with her because he couldn't get a drink order right to save the last 5 minutes of his life. They even have lined parking spots inside the restaurant for your walker. Over priced, over aged!

Despite existing negative reviews, I went to Petey's II with an open mind. But I have to say I was disappointed. My wife, my brother, his wife and I, as well as our five kids aged 5-15 joined my parents to celebrate my dad's 75th birthday. I had the bone-in strip steak, which was overcooked, under-seasoned and gristly. My wife and sister-in-law had the scallops, which were too fishy tasting and under-seasoned. My mother and brother had the ribeye special, which was gristly. My daughters both had hamburgers, which were overcooked. The soup of the day was cream of mushroom. But it was very floury. Really, the only redeeming qualities were the relish tray, cole slaw, macaroni salad, cucumbers and inexpensive cocktails.

There is a certain quality about Petey's II in Orland that I can't quite put my finger on. Perhaps it is that the majority of their patrons are over 60 years old. Or maybe it is because it is the "old style" dining with meat and potatoes and hasn't updated their menu to make it more contemporary. Either way, I wouldn't seek out Petey's II while in the suburbs on purpose. For special events, they worked out just fine. I recently co-hosted a bridal shower here and I must commend the staff. Their servers are attentive, seasoned, and very friendly. For our party of 30 it was a lot of work but our server handled it beautifully. The food was alright. By far, the greatest thing they have going for them is the croutons on the salad. Crunchy, buttery and delicious!

The owners and managers of this establishment should be absolutely ashamed. I was there in August for a Funeral Luncheon, and the food was nothing short of disgusting. It was 11am, and crystal clear that all the food was made the night before. The noodles for the mostaccioli were cold and mushy. It was actually like they poured brown gravy over the leftovers from the previous nights dinner service. So gross! I feel like they took advantage of the fact that it was a funeral luncheon, thinking no one gave a care about the quality of the food. (Which we didn't). However, if you are going to be taking money from poor grieving people at least have the decency to serve something edible.

What a disappointment ! Finally made it to this establishment and will never go back. First we were seated in the bar , decor in my opinion is sparse ,boring and generic . Waitress was nice ,relish tray was good . Bread was STALE! I had a special , a Greek lasagna , absolutely horrible!!! I really don't understand all the negative reviews either! Yes, it doesn't have the most modern decor but that's what makes it different. It's rusty, and yes there are a lot of old people in it...but old people are awesome. I've never had a bad dish here...get the shrimp more often than not though, so I can't say I've tried a whole lot. The staff is also very friendly. It's a hidden little gem, in my opinion.

I could take it or leave it. I had a few negative things to say about this restaurant, but I also have a few positive comments. Overall, this restaurant seems to cater mostly to a senior citizen clientele. Let's start with the positives... This is one of the few restaurants that still gives you a relish tray of fresh vegetables and three appetizer salads with your basket of bread. This was popular in the 1970's and it's a great idea. The vegetables were very fresh and the salads were surprisingly good. Next, the servers were excellent. Our server came back to check on us a few times, kept our drinks full, and was very good about some strange requests because of our children (one of whom is a very picky eater). Next, the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Finally, with regard to the positives, the overall quality of the ingredients seems to be very good, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the meals are good. That being said, let's move into... The negatives. When we arrived, there was no host/hostess. That's fine, I can understand that a host can't be at the front all day long. As we waited (about five minutes), servers passed by without a word. Not only did they walk by without even a smile, none of them even remarked, "Oh, the host will be right with you" or "Let me get someone to seat you." They literally walked by as if we were invisible. Considering the outstanding service we received after sitting down, this was extremely odd. Once the host arrived, he looked at me and said, in a bothered tone, "Can I help you?" The way he spoke to us, he might as well have said, "You don't look like you're here to eat, so what the hell do you want?" In any case, he seated us and our dining experience began. The next negative is that the chef/cook doesn't seem to have ever heard of salt or butter. This could be due to the fact that the average age of the clientele is probably around 75 years old. Many older diners tend to stay away from salt and fat, so my guess is that the food is purposely prepared "bland." This is a real shame though because it's obvious that the ingredients are very fresh and are of a very good quality. I ordered a prime rib steak. The portion size was excellent and it was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, it had absolutely no seasoning on it. Had they seasoned the meat and/or finished it with a pat of butter, the steak would have been excellent. My wife, if I recall correctly, had a chicken with pasta dish (I could be wrong, but I think she had a chicken primavera type of dish). She said hers was "acceptable," but there was absolutely no seasoning. My daughter's meal was also unseasoned. In summation, the host wasn't very gracious, but the servers were exceptional. The ingredients were of a good quality and the general cooking/preparation was excellent, but every meal we had was only mediocre because it doesn't appear that they season the food at all. In conclusion, if someone asked, "How is Petey's II?" I would probably respond by saying, "Eh, you could eat there." It's not good, but it's not bad. Hopefully, the owner will recognize the potential of this restaurant and the cooking staff because with a little salt, a little butter, and a spice rack, the food here could be exceptional.

I haven't been here in years. This is a restaurant with a huge menu that gives you lots of food for your money. It isn't totally cheap though. My wife and I had Chateaubriand once and the steak was well done and not fantastic. The thing you should try here is the cheese burger. I hear they freshly grind the meat from steak every day. The burger meat was fantastic and it is served on toasted garlic bread.

After our horrible experience at another restaurant I've been wanting good lamb chops for a while, so I figured I'd give this place a try. Wow, I can't believe the negative reviews here! Our table of 5 had great, fast service. There's no kids' menu, which meant there were no screaming kids! When we sat down they brought us a relish tray with pepperoncini, cherry peppers, black/green olives, green onion, radish, etc. My niece loves black olives and ate them all, the server saw that and brought her a whole bowl of them! We placed our order. About 2 minutes later, out came some salads. Coleslaw, macaroni salad, and cucumber/onion salad, all of which were homemade! Their portions were so big we didn't even finish them for fear of not being able to eat our entrees. They brought that out with a bread and cracker basket. Then came our saganaki, which was flambed tableside, and had the proper imported Greek cheese. About 5 minutes later the soups and salads came out. They make their own croutons, and they make their own blue cheese dressing! Just as our soups and salads were finishing up, our food came! The timing was great, at least for us. The lamb chops were great! They were probably a little over 2.5 inches thick, with very little fat. They were cooked as ordered for everyone that had them. I had medium rare, my father-in-law had well done, and they were done perfectly, and served to the correct person as well. They were served sitting in a delicious Greek garlic vinaigrette mixture. Even though the steaks were ordered well done, they were still very tender. The meat was all top quality in both flavor and texture. And yes, it is somewhat pricey, depending on what you order. If you order a burger, it's about $8. I wish someone had gotten one, because when they brought them out they looked better than any burger I've ever seen. A top sirloin steak sandwich is about $11. If you order a filet mignon it'll be about $20. It's no more expensive, maybe even a little cheaper than any other high-quality restaurant. Sorry folks, if you wanted 2 for 4 big macs, you should've gone to mcdonalds.

I have seriously been passing Petey's for 35 years and never stopped. Now I know why - I was way to young to go there! Mom and I stopped in on a Tuesday evening and the place was packed with grey hairs. That said, the restaurant is very nicely decorated. The walls are painted in a muted earth tone and there are elegant wall sconces. The bathrooms are lined in marble and upscale. Tables are nicely covered with linen cloths and cloth napkins. The menu is fairly large and typical supper club fare. Mom had the beef sandwich ($11.25) and it came with relish tray and salads, soup or salad and potato. I had the roast duck ($13.25). It was excellent. Also served with the relish, soup or salad and potato it was accompanied by a very nice orange sauce. The duck was crispy and not in the least greasy. BTW Both the blue cheese and garlic dressings were terrific! I had three glasses of house Chianti at $3.25 each - a real bargain! My entree came with dessert that I was way too full to eat and you can't take it with you. Petey's would have gotten 5 stars if it weren't for our very cranky waitress. I mentioned it to the manager who apologized profusely. He said she was crabby because she was busy. Boo-hoo. I would recommend Petey's and will give it a second try.

Petey's was not crowded and they were short of waiting staff. No host when we arrived and we waited to get seated and there was not many people there! The olives on the relish tray tasted bad but in all it was a good idea. The Chicken Marsala was horrible. It had too many onions and the onions were not cut right they were way too big and it had onion shell in it! It barely had Marsala wine sauce on it and the Noodles were over-cooked and stuck to my finger that is how bad it was. I got sick from the dinner and will NEVER go back there again.When I told the Waitress about it and showed her .. she shrugged her shoulders and said oh well I guess we are not good at making that dish. We are not from that country! What type of explanation is this? She never brought the manager nor did she attempt to resolve the problem

This place is really pretty good. The service is good. You get good quality food and plenty of it for a decent price. As such this place is popular with the seniors. To me this is a good sign as gramps and grams know where to eat in my book. The lunches are decent and fairly low priced. The dinners come with a large relish tray selection. I have tried the Dover Sole which was very good. Also have tried the steaks, salmon, and burger here all which were better than average. This place is good for groups, a nice family meal or anytime without breaking the bank. We were here with a group of six once and several of my friends come here regularly. No complaints!

Com'on, this is a nice place. When you enter there is a nice small bar area to the left with several flat screens. The dining room is a good size. You get a relish tray with carrots, celery, peppers, radishes, and olives. You then get three sides of macaroni salad, cole slaw, and marinated cucumbers. Then you get soup or salad. Then you get your meal. I chose the chicken vesuvio (1/2 chicken with oven potatoes in a nice olive oil sauce). Others had lamb chops, and a chicken kabob. All very tasty. Then you get coffee and dessert. Party of 4 with 2 glasses of wine - total price $97. Skip the chain places. Get an old fashion restaurant meal in a clean remodeled setting.

I grew up in Orland Park and we ate at Petey's at least once a week! Of course this restaurant was one of Dad's FAVORITE'S! My favorite too and still is until this day. When I go home to visit, Petey's is a must! Old School decor for sure, which I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!! However, while the decor is old school, it is VERY clean. The food is EXCELLENT! I have been eating here since the early 1970's and never once had a bad dish, or experience. Some of my favorite dishes: * The PETEY BURGER is the BEST burger ever!!! The bun is garlic bread... YUMMY!!! * The steak fries are amazing!!!! * Flaming Saganaki (appetizer) is a must! * The steaks are out of this world! * One of my all time FAVORITES is the Dover Sole Fish Dish, served with lemon butter almandine sauce! Not sure if this is still on the menu, however it is the only restaurant that knew how to make the Best Dover Sole EVER! Thank you Petey and Sam, for many, many years of wonderful food and service!

Old school for sure. My in-laws seem to love steakhouses so here we came for dinner. The decor is classic but doesn't look dated, and I liked it. Meals include relish tray (lots of ice on top of olives, green onions, carrots, celery and radishes), bread, mayo-based salads, soup or salad, entree and even a little dessert. There are definitely a lot of older folks eating here, but then, we did have dinner around 5 pm. There were also a lot of families by the time we left. So I got a green salad that was absolutely drowning in dressing. My greek vinaigrette separated and it was all vinegar on the bottom of the plate. My shrimp scampi was swimming in butter and garlic. My baked potato came with a full cup of sour cream on the side. Oh, and the coleslaw and macaroni salad were swimming in mayo. The food was tasty, and my husband's Petey burger looked really yummy. But man, a little lighter hand with the dressing and the butter maybe? I guess if we come back I'll ask for my dressing on the side. Service was solid. It is a little weird that you only get one soda refill. I have no serious complaints, it's not my first choice of style of restaurants but it's good at what it is.

The menu seems to have been created in the 60's or 70's, otherwise known as "The Era in Which America Did Not Have Taste Buds." If you want to load up on side dishes with copious amounts of greasy substances, this is the place for you. If you want to step back in time to a time when the preferred diet was "load up on as much cheap fat as possible" and customer service took a back seat to quantity of food, then look no further. There is a reason that this type food is not remotely popular anymore. It does not taste good. As far as I can tell, most of the side dishes are vehicles for adding as much mayonnaise, oil and butter as humanly possible in the space of one meal. Being 30, I've never been to a place remotely like this, and I hope I never make the mistake of going to one again.

So we thought we would go and try it thinking it can't be as bad as the reviews...and it was worse. We got two chicken dishes the marsala and picada...it was so bad I can't even tell you. Picada had creamy lemon sauce that looked like cold potato gravy and was not good. Marsala looked great, but chicken was under cooked in the thick part, and literally had no flavor I've never had anything so unappetizing...even the noodles (with added salt) tasted watery and plain. Kids chicken tenders were like chicken parts all squished together, weird shape and gooey (fried shrimp the exact same and fishy). Only good thing was Pete's burger. My appetizer plate when I arrived was not washed properly and covered in slime. Place was stuffy/warm and a little stinky. Crowd--older (70+). Service and host were suprisingly decent (until they asked how everything was and I told them - then attitudes changed). They did take marsala off bill, and offered to let me get something else, but there was no way I wanted to try anything else. Nobody took leftovers home...a first. Chicken noodle soup flavorless. Navy bean was pretty good. No gyros at this Greek restaurant either. Let me also tell you our bill was over $100...with my meal off, a kids meal & 3 other entrees. They need a new chef like no place I've been!!! It has potential to be so much more...great location, big space, traditional feel, but just horrendous food!

A must place to go. Great food, excellent service, prices are reasonable. Had duck for $14.95. A little retro but in a good way. A fun place to take a date, go with friends or family.

The menu is old school but the new chef is adding some modern life and flare to it. Service was outstanding and the price was good. The only thing I can complain about is the noisy toddlers. Don't bring your little ones. This is a big person restaurant

If Petey's II was a girl and not a restaurant it would drink pumpkin spice lattes, go to yoga(or at least wear yoga pants) and love Sex and the City. Yeah, Petey's is a Basic B. It's not that it was bad or anything, but it was the most average meal I have had in a while. My favorite part of the meal was the noodle salad and cucumber salad. My steak came out looking alright, presentation was a bit lacking but I figured it was one of the those "our steaks speak for themselves" kind of things. In the end they should have told the steak to be quiet and let someone else talk. It wasn't seasoned, which for a good steak is not a problem, but it wasn't a good steak. it wasn't even mediocre. It was cooked perfectly, but the meat wasn't of high enough caliber to stand alone like that. I have gotten better pieces of meat form the grocery store. My wife had a similar experience but the in law's loved their steak. Maybe it's a generational thing and the old guard just likes boring boring meals. The average age in the restaurant was about 70. And mind you my wife, her brother and myself were there as outliers to bring the average down about 20 years. The service was very good and that was with a full restaurant. On the whole, I won't be back unless I don't have a say in where we are going. The meal was not what it needed to be for the price. Though, they make a mean Manhattan. Fun Fact #89: The fresh, salty smell of beach air is actually the smell of rotting seaweed.

Like this place and liked reading the reviews. People mentioned how this is a place for the older set ... and that is probably true but not a pejorative. When we went to Petey's II there were not a lot of younger people, and no little kids. There is really no food for the little ones and this place is just not set up for them. You also won't find a bunch of people in college T-shirts hanging around. The dress is a bit better, like golf shirt and slacks. That said, the food was good. The food service harks back to another time. First a relish tray (sliced carrots, green onions, etc.), and then three salad dishes (cole slaw, macaroni salad, cucumber salad), then a salad or soup with your entree, then your entree, and finally coffee and a little dessert - all for one reasonable price. So what's not to like? You get a complete meal in a setting that is not a fast-food madhouse for a price that doesn't require you to take out a second mortgage. Pretty nice. The special that night was pot roast, and it was excellent. I suspect sticking with the steaks and the specials is the way to go. A restaurant can't make everything perfect every night, but they can specialize in a few. Drink service was also very nice and reasonably priced ... $6.50 for a brand name cocktail and $5.50 for a Bloody Mary - both nice generous drinks. Our waitress was on her game too. Every time we drive by Petey's II the parking lot is busy - now we know why.

Nice job on remodeling the exterior, looks great. Unfortunately it goes down from there inside. The food is very under whelming for the price. Overall the place is just stale. This place and Hackneys have the best locations of any restaurants in the area. That along with some long time loyal patrons must be keeping them afloat.

What a bad experience. Went there on Saturday evening with no reservations, so we had to wait about 15-20 mins, and went to the bar to have a drink. The 90+ year old male bartender Gus who must be an owner or something gave very poor service and watched every move of the other bartender like she was going to steal the cash register or something. God forbid she pour an extra quarter ounce of box wine and bankrupt the place. Our table was ready, so we went into the dining room, which must resemble the waiting room before you get to talk to St. Peter, I'm in my 40s, and was by far the youngest diner in that room. The service was bad, and the waitress clearly paid more attention to the older guests (maybe because they are going to die soon) than she did to us. Our drink refills took forever and we had to wait for 10-15 mins to get the check while she told her life story to another table. Through this experience we remained kind and appreciative of her crap like service. The host, went to every table around ours and asked them how their dining experience was, but not ours. My wife didn't care for her main course at all. Mine was ok, but overpriced. We will not be going back ever again. There are plenty of nice places in the area besides this dinosaur graveyard. The owners might want to get a clue and start catering to the 30-40 year old professional crowded or else they are not going to have any customers in 5-10 years.

OK. I have lived in Frankfort for over 30 years and I have driven by this place for many of those years. My wife and I FINALLY went in for dinner and I am now pretty upset that I haven't done that before. The atmosphere is OK. Nothing spectacular but our server was extremely friendly and the sheer AMOUNT of food you get is pretty unbelievable. Before ordering, we received a plate of rolls, and a veggie plate with just about everything you would find in a garden! (Olives too!). We ordered the flaming cheese before our main courses and that was just phenomenal! The smell alone will make your mouth water. My wife had the steak and I had the Bass special. Both cooked perfectly and the potato side was great. We have already booked another 'date night' to Petey's II and we are definitely looking forward to it!

After driving by this place for years we finally had to give a try. atmosphere was very nice but the steak was the most disappointing meal I have ever had. my wife and I will never go there again. no seasoning at all on food , very bland.

We go once a week for dinner! Petite filet, grecian pork chops, 5 glasses of wine, soup or salad included.. dessert and coffee relish tray and starter salads included as well.Check around 65.00 before tip. Seriously?? What's not to love?

Me and my wife walked into the lobby where I was greeted by a sneer, we waited in the lobby, the guy behind the counter was on the phone and ignored us, we waited almost 15 minutes without be acknowledged by anyone, we left and went to Hackney's, and we won't come back

We have dined here three times already 2 were casual meals and one more for dinner. The food is delicious! We always have the saganaki flaming cheese and calamari (delicious) the burgers are great and I always get the one with blue cheese and it is outstanding. The waiters and waitresses are attentive and responsive without being overbearing nor do they rush you out to refill the table with new diners. Looking forward to summer to dine outside by the fireplace patio area.

Never go to this restaurant again. The waitress we had was terrible, the overall customer service was so horrible . Very over priced!!! My mom hated her steak told the waitress and she did not offer to take off bill or even order something else. Then charged us 2.50 extra for certain potato's you order. Also 2.50 extra for blue cheese on salad. Oh and give you a really small glass of soda and no refills charged us 2.50 each refill. It's so ridiculous I can't even believe people still go there. Oh did I mention the waitress never told us any of this up front. Such a rip off place. The quality of the food was terrible too. Bad bad experience !!!!
